In this fourth part of the article, we are going to see 7 ways for making money online at home free if you have certain talents … to help people on Fiverr, to rent your items on rentalic, to be a ChaCha agent, to run errands on TaskRabbit, to perform tasks as an Amazon Mechanical Turk, to be a product demonstrator with Volition, and to display your arty side with Etsy.com and others.
20. If you’re the creative Type – Use Fiverr
Got a talent or skill to share with people from all over the world and make money online at home for free? Then a listing on Fiverr.com is your logical choice.
Fiverr is now the world’s largest task marketplace for you to offer small services known as ‘gigs’. It is also a neat way to connect with others and use your hidden talents at the same time.
You could offer absolutely anything, from custom drawings, writing and translating, voiceovers, social media posting, short video clips, playing pranks, teaching, creating music, photos, or songs.
You can fulfill such tasks starting at $5 per job (hence the name Fiverr..) but you can attach extra services to gigs (See Part V, N° 40) for more money. (You can also sell physical items.)
$5 might not sound like much, but it can add up quickly. This is exemplified by the stories of lots of people making a really good living from the site. The key is to devise a system which enables you to minimises the time spent on each gig.
But there is a better way to profit even more from Fiverr for doing far less work.
By simply finding gigs on fiverr and reselling them elsewhere.
You could, for instance, find a nice banner on fiverr, then propose it to someone looking for banners on Elance or even in your local classifieds. Imagine spending $5 on fiverr and getting $50+ on elance! And see what you could be making by repeating such exploits!
If you’re not interested in selling at all there’s SO much good stuff you can get done for yourself. Have a browse and get inspired!
N.B.: You can also offer your services online at another task marketplace called Zaarly.com. Zaarly.com offers a similar service. Zaarly is currently active in Austin, Denver, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Nashville, San Antonio and San Francisco but has workers performing tasks all around the U.S.
21. If you’re a Pack Rat – Use Rentalic
Do you have expensive equipment like a lawn mower or an outboard motor lying idle? Then you’re leaving money on the table.
Make some money online at home for free by renting it out by the day or week on Rentalic.com.
Rentalic.com is expanding rapidly and listings can be found in most states.
The site provides you with a structured way to lend your items to members in your area. Should your items be of high quality or be hard to find, the rates you get for them could be very handsome.
22. If you’re a Know-it-all – Use ChaCha
Are you smart at answering witty questions that most people find baffling?
Then you might be a good match as guide at ChaCha agent.
ChaCha is a search engine just like Google and Yahoo. The service it offers here allows people to get answers quickly by text to burning questions they have. This might be something like who was the first woman who won a Nobel Prize, or which planet is the farthest from the sun.
You can also become a transcriber and simply transcribe people’s questions from recordings. And why not settle bar bets and get paid for each answer?
23. If you’re a Man/Woman About Town – Use TaskRabbit
Are you meticulous and complete your weekend morning errands on time? Then you could be a great fit for TaskRabbit.com as a “runner.”
A runner bids on various short errands that “senders” have posted. These include shopping at the local store, taking a message, or collecting goods.
You can take on as many assignments as you can handle and receive your payment through the TaskRabbit site.
Currently active in San Francisco and Boston, TaskRabbit is expanding to several other cities soon… so check the listing and apply!
24. If you’re a Quick Typer and a Fast Thinker – Use Amazon Mechanical Turk
Got some free time on your hands? Use it to make money online at home by completing Human Intelligence Tasks, or HITs, through Amazon’s Mechanical Turk site or MTurk.com.
HITS are very small tasks that are hard for a computer to do, but easy for a human being to complete. Some are finding the Contact Us button on a website, or identifying a blue pen from a red one. But most commonly they involve mindless data entry or form filling.
The HITS concept is based on ‘internet crowd-sourcing’ where businesses advertise specific, scalable tasks they need completing quickly. More than 200,000 such tasks are listed on MTurk.com, with the pay and the work requirements varying greatly.
Once you complete a task, your payment is deposited in your Amazon Payments account.
Mind you, the tasks pay a few cents each. But they are quick and easy to complete, and besides the payments can add up quickly.

25. If you’re an Outgoing Person – Use Volition
Are you outgoing, like meeting new people and find it easy engaging with strangers? Then you can make some money as a demonstrator at a grocery store. Your work would be to hand out samples and coupons to shoppers.
Check Volition.com to find listed assignments in your area and sign up with some of the companies. You may find pretty regular gigs for which you receive a set wage, in the region of $10 to $15 per hour for a four to six hour assignment.
You may also choose to become a brand ambassador.
The term “Brand ambassador” designates people posted on the sidewalk of a store during a grand opening or a big sale and give out freebies and encourage shoppers to come on in and have a look.
You can find listings for brand ambassadors in your local Craigslist.org section.
Requisites: a photo or a resume. Experience working with the public would be an advantage.
26. If you are Artistic
Are you good at creating works of art? Then there are plenty of ways for you to make money online at home.
Let’s look at some of them.
