Video is not only an extra source of traffic for you, but it is also maybe the best. Videos often get ranked in the top 3 search results in Google. So, with videos you can capitalize off that excellent ranking for another massive potential stream of traffic.
The video for this part walks you through the process of keyword research for videos, right to the actual uploading of the video to Youtube.
Task 1: Come Up With A Relevant Keyword for Your Video
Doing keyword research for a video is a little bit different from that for website content. Although the focus is still on QSR, sometimes it is not very important here. There is also an additional step to your keyword research for video where you will be checking to see if there are other “Youtube” videos ranked on the 1st page of Google.
Log into your account if you have one at Jaaxy.com or if you are a member of Wealthy Affiliate, log into the WA Keyword Tool. Then find a keyword that is relevant to the video that you want to create. Note that it must fit the following criteria:
(1) Under 300 QSR
(2) Get some traffic (The more, the better)
Here is an example keyword:
The keyword’s QSR is not only less than 300 but also it gets some traffic.
While ranking under:
how to build a free website online
you are also naturally targeting other search terms within that phrase. This includes terms like:
how to build a free website
build a free website online
free website online
This is no more than a bonus. You should rather focus on the longer keyword phrase further above, the one you are going to do the “secondary” keyword research for using the “Competition” Tab inside of Jaaxy that researches the first page of video engines within Google, including the main ones, Youtube and Vimeo.
The next thing is to check if there is already a Youtube video on the first page under your particular search term. Find below the initial search done for the term “how to build a free website online”…
No videos have been found in Google under that quoted search term, which is a good thing. Now you are ready to upload your video, making use of that search term.
Task 2: Upload Your Video to Youtube
You are now going to upload your video on to Youtube.
If you don’t yet have a Youtube account, you can create one for free, using a Google account or a Google Plus one.
In a matter of just a few days, Kyle, the co-founder of Wealthy Affiliate and the creator of this video, was able to get his website ranked under his target search term. It is not ruled out that he got ranked under other search terms too.
Check the ranking in Google:
Important: When making videos, don’t target only search terms, but also make your Video Title enticing so that people may click on them.
Note, for this video, that “Takes Less Than 30 Seconds” has been added to the title. Do the same when you are coming up with your titles for your videos.
Lastly, within your description, make sure to provide a link to your website, landing page or autoresponder. If you don’t, there will be no way for you to monetize your Youtube traffic. Your ultimate goal of producing is video is to channel the traffic from your video to your site, etc.
