Pay/Click

It is considered to be the simplest and most popular affiliate marketing technique. With this technique the affiliate online marketer places the banners and text ads of merchants on his site. When any visitor clicks on these banners and check outs the merchant site, the affiliate gets credited.

Pay/Performance

Pay/performance affiliate marketing, also called PPC, is exceptionally popular amongst big affiliates and all types of merchants.

In this method the affiliate gets credited just when any visitor from their affiliate id performs the required action.

For affiliates, it is appealing because they are getting a good share in the sales of merchant products.

If we categorize the affiliate marketing on the basis of depth, then it can be divided into three classes. Another type is the one in which an affiliate marketer is paid for every sale that is made by an individual referred by him.

Affiliate Marketing: 1-Tier, 2-Tier & Multi-Tier

In an affiliate program of single-tier nature, the affiliates get the commission, just, for the visitor’s traffic or sales to the merchant’s website.

Pay/performance and pay/click fall under this category.

Speaking about Two-tier marketing, the affiliate gets the commission for each action done by the visitors referred by him. Plus he will get the revenue whenever some other affiliate, referred by him, gets the commission.

In this way affiliate is earning directly as well as indirectly.

The multi-tier marketing is the exact same as two-tier marketing. In this type, the affiliates get the commission for the sales made by their affiliated affiliates in multiple tiers.

The depth of this type may be limitless.

Residual Income Marketing

The only requirement is that on the first time check out, the person must come from the affiliate link of the affiliate.

Next time if the same individual visits the merchant site, even without utilizing the affiliate link, the affiliate will be paid for every sale made by the visitor.

If the cookie is found, the affiliate id is recovered from it and the affiliate gets credited for any purchase made by the visitor.

Summary conclusion

Pay/performance affiliate marketing, also called PPC, is incredibly famous among a huge number of affiliates and all types of merchants.

In this approach the affiliate gets credited only when any visitor from their affiliate id carries out the necessary action. In this type, the affiliates get the commission for the sales made by their affiliated affiliates in several tiers.

Next time if the same person goes to the merchant site, even without using the affiliate link, the affiliate will be paid for every sale made by the visitor.

If the cookie is discovered, the affiliate id is retrieved from it and the affiliate gets credited for any purchase made by the visitor.

  1. I really appreciated this review of the different types of affiliate marketing. I’m wondering if you have any specific examples of programs or courses that focus on each category? More specifically, online training or certification courses that focus on being successful in two-tier affiliate marketing?

Up to this point, I have been focusing on single-tier affiliate marketing. I’m hesitant to jump into PPC because of some of the disadvantages you brought up in your video, including the fact that you can spend a lot of money just testing out what works (or doesn’t work)!

      .

Yes, you have to be careful with PPC as you can spend a lot of money just testing out what works or doesn’t. If possible, outsource this part of your business.

  2. I love Affiliate Marketing with all of my heart. It is my favourite way to make money online considering all the possibilities that come with this model of business online. Thanks for sharing the different types of Affiliate Marketing. I have seen people making thousands of dollars with Pay/Click with ads being placed on their websites. This is very much lucrative especially when traffic is high and because the users are not required to buy anything. Just click.

Pay/Performance is much more lucrative because the users are required to perform some acts; either buy something and other similar acts.

I’d incorporate the various types in my blog when I launch.

    Regards!
