Getting content ideas from keywords
Maybe you know the term “keyword research”. But in case you don’t, know that it’s simply the act of looking for keyword phrases that are relevant to your niche or a topic and then using them to build a site or content.
The importance of keyword research is that it will serve as the foundation of all your search engine optimization success. For this reason, it is imperative to learn about it before finding out about content creation.
Once again, WHAT is a KEYWORD?
We defined a keyword in part one of these series as a word or a group of words that people use to search for what they need online. An example of a keyword is the word you enter into the Google search engine box when looking for something.
The ultimate aim of any keyword research is to find keywords to get rankings in Google, Yahoo, and Bing, so as to attract a relevant audience.
It is in this wise that you will be using the keywords that you find in this lesson to write content. If used on your website, this content will bring you search engine rankings and traffic.
So let’s get down to business to come up with a few “keywords” relevant to your website and your niche.
Every content you create on your website should be targeting keywords…
Yes, every single page or post that you create should target a brand new keyword, and that’s what you’re going to learn in this post which itself is built around the keywords: finding keywords, keyword research, wealthy affiliate keyword tools, keyword tools, help with keywords, getting content ideas from keywords. Once you do this, every page or post on your website can rank in Google under that particular keyword and bring you traffic.
X number of pages targeting X number of keywords = X number of potential Google rankings
As you continue to create “keyword targeted” pages or posts on your website, you’re going to see your traffic continue to rise.
The reason for the creation and the continued existence of Google and other search engines is CONTENT. So if you can deliver quality content (that targets low competition keywords), the search engines will reward you with great rankings.
Here below is a video to give you an overview of what keywords are and how to apply them to your business.

Task 2: Carry out 10 different searches using Jaaxy.com
Your second task is to use the Jaaxy.com keyword tool to carry out 10 full searches relevant to your niche.
Start broad with a few of your searches (ie. two or more word searches). For example if your niche was “how to make money online with affiliate marketing,” you may start with the following search terms:
• Affiliate marketing
• How to make money online with affiliate marketing
• Affiliate marketing money-making
• How to make money online
• Make money online with affiliate marketing
Then refine your searches. Check each keywords for the QSR (Quoted Search Result), which is the number of competing websites ranked in Google for this exact keyword. If it is not over 300 results (the lower the better), add it to your keyword list (which you will use for your next task). Ideally you must aim for keywords with at least 50 monthly searches, which is the average number of searches that the keyword receives per month.
Task 3: Research to find at least 5 keywords related to your niche
This time you are going to find 5 keywords that meet the following criteria:
(1) More than 50 monthly searches (ANY traffic might also be OK)
(2) Less than 200 QSR. (The lower the figure the lesser the competition)
(3) Keyword must make sense
The following is a search obtained using the Jaaxy keyword tool:
As you can see, all the keywords meet the first traffic criterion of over 50 monthly searches.
Next click the “Get QSR” to reveal the competition. Continue clicking the QSRs until you find keywords showing under 300 competition.
Repeat this process within your niche until you come up with the 5 keywords.
