When it concerns selecting an affiliate program, do you know what to try to find you?

You are prompted to keep on reading if this is your very first time joining an affiliate program.

Some criteria for selecting an affiliate program

Below are some standards that you may want to think about following.

Maybe, the most essential thing that you need to remember, when choosing an affiliate program, is to not select the first affiliate program that you encounter.

This is a big mistake that many affiliate program individuals make. Unfortunately for you, this can be a costly mistake.

What lots of you do not realize is that the product you select to promote will assess you and your business. That is why it is very important that you take the time to thoroughly take a look at an affiliate program initially.

You will want to select an affiliate program that includes an item that you can stand behind, one hundred percent.

How can you recognize a legitimate affiliate program?

One of the best ways to know that you are dealing with a legitimate affiliate program and a quality product is to test that product out. If that is the case, you can still investigate an affiliate program or even the product that is being sold.

Browse with the name of the affiliate program or the product being offered.

Things to do before requesting or registering for an affiliate program

Prior to requesting or registering for an affiliate program, you are encouraged to check out all of the guidelines, constraints, or guidelines associated with that affiliate program.

You might find yourself disqualified from an affiliate program right off the bat.

For example, there are a large variety of affiliate programs that prohibit their products from being advertised on websites that show pornography, foul language, and other offending content.

Others like AWeber do not allow you to advertise or promote their product using the words “scam” or asking questions like “Is AWeber legit?”

Others are very regarding on the traffic methods that you use to promote their offers. I was thrown out of Upviral for using traffic which instead of being high quality turned out to be worthless. They argued the large non-converting traffic sent to the site was lowering their conversion rate.

Acquainting yourself with an affiliate program’s standards and guidelines will prevent you from being rejected from a program or later on dismissed from one.

Perhaps, one of the most essential things to keep in mind, when choosing an affiliate program, is the item that you will have to sell. For instance, if your own website focuses on computer system programs, you will not desire to join an affiliate program that sells pet products.

This is because the traffic you are driving to your website are people interested in learning about, and hopefully purchasing, computer system programs. When they come across an article or an item about pet products, they will click themselves out of your site and never come back.

One of the simplest methods to make a significant amount of money is to choose an affiliate program that pays their affiliates decently. You may wish to look for affiliate programs that pay around ten percent.

While this is a good percentage to make, there are higher paying affiliate programs. In truth, there are even a select number of affiliate programs that pay around fifteen percent in commissions. See what below what percentage Clickbank pays:

The above mentioned standards are just a few of the lots of that you will want to consider, when choosing an affiliate program. Although the points pointed out above are helpful, the most important thing to keep in mind is your judgment. Utilizing your best judgment is the easiest way to choose an effective affiliate program.

To your success,

P.S. You might easily make a full-time living simply with affiliate programs if carefully picked.

Summary conclusion

Affiliate programs are a terrific method to make cash online; if you choose the best affiliate program. Perhaps, the most essential thing that you require to keep in mind, when picking an affiliate program, is to not select the first affiliate program that you come across. You will want to pick an affiliate program that involves an item that you can stand behind, one hundred percent.

Familiarizing yourself with an affiliate program’s guidelines and standards will prevent you from being rejected from a program or later on dismissed from one.

One of the most convenient ways to make a considerable amount of money is to pick an affiliate program that pays their affiliates decently.

  1. Choosing a successful affiliate program seems like an easy task, but after reading through your article and watching the video, I can see that it really does warrant taking a little time and researching what might be best. Many newbies do not do this and I am sure it does not work out as well as it could often.

The criteria and thought process that you have included seems like solid advice and I found myself taking some notes and rereading the article a couple of times. I now feel a lot more ready to decide in which direction to go and I thank you for taking the time to put this article together!

    • Hi Dave,

I think the gurus made people to believe that choosing an successful affiliate program was easy. This was to seduce them into their programs and build a downline. But affiliate marketing isn’t that easy. Yes, it needs time and researching to dig up the gold. Unless this is done, the result is certainly failure.

I’m happy the criteria and thought
process in the article got you taking some notes and rereading the article a couple of times. Go in your direction if you now feel good, but continue learning. Good luck!

  2. Thanks for the tips Akoli. I prefer to go with affiliate programs of products or brands that are well known in the market and have a solid reputation already. I agree 100% that you should only ever promote something that you stand behind and would feel proud to promote. I also like them to have a suite of graphics available so that I can easily promote them on social media and on website widgets.

What I found when I was starting out was that I was knocked back from a few affiliate programs because my sites weren’t progressed enough – I didn’t have enough content or enough traffic. That taught me a valuable lesson – make the site about helpful content before attempting to monetise with affiliate links!

    Thanks

    • Hi Melissa,

It was my pleasure serving you those tips. Yeah, going with well-known affiliate programs
of products or brands that have a solid
reputation already is a good idea. But it may not be for you. As the article said and you also repeated, you should only ever promote
something that you stand behind and would feel proud to promote. I like your idea of a suite of graphics so that you can easily
promote on social media and on website widgets.

Yes, in the beginning of my career, I signed up with Adsense and they turned me down, that I didn’t have enough traffic. I didn’t understand them then. But  let’s face it. What’s the use of they sending me ads and me having them on my website when there is nobody to use them? It’s useless for both of us.
