That’s what we’re going to see using the 10 factors we draw on to write our MLM reviews.

That said, let’s dive in to see the first one.

Year of creation / Number of years of companies and other details

Natura was founded in 1969 and it is based out of São Paulo, Brazil.

The largest cosmetics company in Brazil, it became a publicly-traded company in 2004.

In 2019 they reported an agreement to acquire Avon Products INC. Approved, this deal is expected to become final this year (2020).

The company boasts the largest sales staff in the world. Said to be 6.6 million strong, they are called consultants.

If it comes to being eco-friendly in their practices and also in biodiversity and conservation, Natura is an incontestable leader.

Another notable fact about this company is that for the year 2017they have realized a 24.5 percent increase in growth.

No wonder they are the fastest growing cosmetics company in the industry, a company traded in 73 countries.

Yanbal was established in 1967 in Peru.

A well-established company that deals in cosmetics, Yanbal on its part claims to have over half a million distributors.

A company ranked in the top 100 MLM companies for many years, they have a huge presence in the niche.

Yanbal has a commitment to empower women in the business world with a view to making them independent.

This lofty view has been carried on by the founder’s daughter, Janine Belmont, who is now the CEO of the company,

Founder(s) and/or Director(s) of the company

Natura was established by Antônio Luiz Seabra.

The founder here is Juan Fernando Belmont Anderson. He has made it to the Forbes billionaires list back in 2013 and 2014. But he has since dropped off that list due to his company being in the MLM niche.

This seems to make a difference in how a company is valued.

Position among top 100 MLM companies in the world

It is number 4 on the list of top 100 MLM companies in the world.

They are number 27 on the list of the top 100 multi-level marketing companies in the world in 2020.

Products and/or services offered

There is quite a lot of information on Natura’s products and it was all good.

These products are simply too many to even attempt to list them here. For that reason we will do the next best thing, which is, tell you all about how they are made.

Natura has a solid line of eco-friendly products. Furthermore, they lead the race in making sure their products are both healthy and not harmful to the planet.

In effect, Natura uses safe ingredients that are natural in origin. They forbid any form of animal testing on the development of their products.

Moreover, the company counts on Amazon Forest ingredients, sells 100% vegan products and uses ecological packaging. They are also carbon neutral.

As if all the above were not impressive enough, this MLM giant also ploughs its products profits into funding education and the fine arts. Absolutely community-oriented, Natura places a 100 percent money-back guarantee on all their products.

That is a pretty good sounding batch of commitments which definitely make them a trendsetter.

This company has various products it promotes in different parts of the world.

In Latin America for example, they distribute cosmetics meant for women and colognes for men. There are also products for babies.

But in the USA they concentrate on jewelry. Designed by high profile jewelers in New York, these pieces are handcrafted in Peru.

Should you or your customers be looking for top-shelf jewelry, this is it. The jewelry is not only fashioned out of 24 karat gold but also it features glass and crystal.

These timeless products are well-established, high quality and reasonably-priced. Moreover, the company stands behind them one hundred percent.

There is one interesting twist to their approach.

It is that they offer a potential customer their own personal stylist who is really a distributor. So far as we know, this is not done by any other company dealing in jewelry in the USA.

Number of countries in which the companies do business

They are traded in 73 countries.

They are found in over 11 different countries including Columbia, Venezuela, Spain, and Bolivia. The others are Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, and Ecuador. They have recently expanded into the United States.

Business model / Compensation plan

Natura uses several ways to sell its products. Some of them are through 3200 stores and others are what they call consultants.

At the present time, the company counts over 1.7 million consultants selling their products in direct sales.

What has been our surprised at how the company conducts itself both in the community and with its workers!

We consulted many reviews written by current and former consultants that had nothing but good things to say about the company. We were astonished not to have found a single negative review.

We then spent hours of research looking for information on how to join the direct sales team. We failed to find much information other than that they require you send them a resume through their corporate website.

We did find though that membership fees per year are $1000.00.

In view of the company having 1.7 million direct distributors, we thought there certainly must be a good compensation program. But hard as we tried, we simply could not find any public information on how it works.

What we came across was that in 2015 Natura created a retail sales entity and began selling retail through their online stores. This information worried us somewhat as we know the best MLM companies offer their products exclusively through their distributors. We thought that perhaps this company has found a way to make it all work together.

Further research did made us realize that when they went retail in 2015, they did expect the majority of their sales would still be coming through their direct sellers. So maybe they are offering a limited line of exclusive products through their retail stores.

In the case of this company, we will focus on the overall plan they use in all of their divisions. In some areas this seems a little antiquated. However in the jewelry line it is really unique and new.

In effect, they encourage having parties, similar to Tupperware and the likes, to show off their products to make sales. Should they be successful, the distributor hosting the parties makes commissions on any sales.

These range from 25 to 35 percent. But that is not all. There are other bonuses Yanbal makes available for discounts on products.

You recruit new distributors also as you go, earning commissions on your downline up to three levels deep. But unless you are a heavy recruiter, you will find it hard to get to the third level profits.

Level one commissions are paid out at 6 to 10 percent. Level two pays 2 to 5 percent. But level three sales are at 3 percent.

One remark we made is that the company front-loads its bonuses and discounts and even cash bonuses for the newbies.

When a distributor has been there for some time it becomes less frequent. So you must recruit hard to continue to receive them on a regular basis.

To get started in this business you are required to make an investment of $199.00 in a starter kit. It contains many products and training materials.

In Yanbal’s jewelry niche, they recommend that their distributors wear their products daily as sort of a walking advertisement. This helps attract new customers.

Should this seem a bit odd, know that according to the company’s training material, it works. So we will hold judgment on this technique, having not seen it in action previously with any other company we have reviewed.

But what we can pass favourable judgement on is that this company is a very good choice for working with. For the simple reason that they follow the three rules of a quality MLM company, which are:

  1. Marketing
  2. Sales
  3. Recruitment

Annual sales

This company records an annual income of 4.4 billion dollars.

They have an annual income of 924.0 million dollars.

Pros and cons

The pros

  • Well-established company
  • Great product line
  • Great training
  • Good commissions
  • Great emphasis on women becoming independent workers
  • Follows the three rules of quality MLM

The cons

  • Outdated product delivery system ( Hosting parties)
  • Front-loaded commissions for newbies

Bans / Complaints / Legal issues

Nothing else to report than what we have already said above.

Our view of / take on the company

We couldn’t find further details about the business model the direct sales team is using. But everything else we found about this company has really impressed us a lot.

It is worth mentioning that Natura are eco-friendly and concerned about the environment. They make it a principle that their products be safe and healthy for the users as well as for the earth.

At the very least we have to give Natura a thumbs up in matters of their business practices and products. But we are unable to give them a thumbs up concerning their MLM business model because of the lack of information.

What we will say in conclusion is that any company as well put together as this one is worth checking out. So we recommend going to their website and seeing if you can find a way to check out how to become a consultant. You must also judge for yourself if Natura is indeed worth pursuing.

We have to say how delighted we were about what we found on this company. And we believe they have a well-established track record in the multi-level marketing niche.

Their numbers have gone a bit down from past years. Despite that they are introducing a jewelry line and expanding into the USA.

These are a display of good signs that they are investing in their future and consequently in that of their distributors. This is because they are set up for success through these distributors. Above all, they handle them well.

We therefore give Yanbal a thumbs up. In consequence whereof we recommend them to anyone who likes giving parties, meeting new people and giving advice on how to use these products.

We can show you a place where you can build your very own successful business with step by step training and we can show it to you for free! Just check out our number one recommendation for more info!

  1. Hi, although I have my doubts about multi-level selling companies, these two companies really do seem like a good choice to join, because of their size, type of products, especially Natura with its eco cosmetics line. I like your post because you make a good description of both companies, pros, and cons. It is very important when it comes to people that are looking for affiliate programs, companies comparisons, product reviews, etc. Thank you

  3. Hey nice review you have there. It is important to note that the two companies are doing well in their various fields, as they offer different products. But Yanbal is trying to gain competitive advantage in the multi level marketing niche, by introducing new product into it’s product line. This will in turn attract more customers to them and thereby increase their profitability.

  5. Wow! This is an interesting article that you have got here. The Natura offers products that are safe and healthy for the users as well as for the earth but the cost of becoming a member is high. However, Yanbal has great concerns for it members future. It is a well established business and the commissions is great.

    Thanks for sharing with me.

  6. Hello there thanks for this review it was really helpful I must say. Natura and Yanbal are two great companies that have been prominent for the past 50years now and both deal on cosmetics. From this post, Yanbal is older than Natura but in terms of achievement and success, Natura beats the chart. Natura has indeed set a standard that would be difficult for Yanbal to beat.
