They concerned what to write and making the structure for it. Then you learnt that you must write titles for both search engines and people. And to write to solve your audience’s problems. We ended the basic SEO tips by asking you to prefer quality content to quantity.

On this last point, there was a question as to whether content was still king. We deduced that quality content was rather the president because that is what Google rewards.

Then we came to 17 intermediate highly effective SEO tips for bloggers.

The first tip was for you to learn basic HTML to be able to handle the HTML of your blog posts. The next asked you to configure the Robots.txt file in Search Console. This will enable you to distribute the daily crawling budget of your website among your pages.

After that you received advice to use images in your posts. And also shown how to optimize them for SEO.

Then came the issue of schemas, a specific vocabulary of tags you can add to your blog post’s HTML. These improve the way your page is displayed in the search results.

A similar idea to the above was to implement a structured data markup. This is the code of your website which help search engines understand your content. And to find and present the most relevant results to the user.

From there you were asked to have a look at the Google SERP page. This is to know what the search results page looks like for the term you’re targeting. Then you can optimize for such rich search results.

For your blog, you saw that you have to provide a good title, description, and footer text. This is to make it show in search results.

As for TF*IDF, you learnt that it is the algorithm which shows the weight of a keyword. And then came the tip about monitoring your blog’s performance. This includes such matters as checking your site’s loading speed and its mobile-friendliness.

Coming back to content matters, you were exhorted to update your old posts to keep them current. You should also feature influencers in your blog posts and build relationships within your niche. These will get you noticed and promoted.

  1. Such an informative post here. How can we make use of Google Webmaster Tools? What are the purposes?
One important point is to build back links. This is also a step many people ignore. Try to post your articles on social media, medium.com, quora, etc. By the way how can we do guest posting? I am curious about how it works?

    • Hi ty,

Thanks for appreciating my post. If you want to know how to make use of Google Webmaster Tools, please read 20 Ways to Use Google Search Console to Optimize Your Site for Search The main purpose of Google Weebmaster toolsis to help you optimize your website for search.
Yes, one important point is to build back links. Not Black Hat backlinks which can get you banned on Google but natural backlinks. If many people ignore this step, it is really out of lack of knowledge. Backlinks help the Search Engines understand the structure of your site. It also helps visitors to find related information easily and thus keep them more on your sites. These are all factors Google uses to rank sites. Posting your articles on social media, medium.com, quora, etc. also help build White Hat SEO backlinks. For how to do guest posting, especially how it works, see 29 benefits of guest blogging.

Thanks for your visit and I look forward to seeing you again, soon.

  2. Hi,

This is an extensive list of tips. How do algorythms actually work and how can I get that to work for me? I have Google search console and Google analytics, and I am not using them on a daily basis, but I probably should. I feel that I don’t know enough about them yet.

What do you recommend to avoid Google penalty? Writing duplicate content is one of them, but are there any other things to avoid?

    • Hi Christine,

Yes, I took my time to make this an extensive list of tips. Nobody can really tell you how algorythms
actually work. It’s Google’s secret. Imagine if everybody knew it. We will trick the bot into giving us loads of traffic. The only way to get that to work for you is to write valuable content and follow best SEO practices.

      I consult my Google
search console and Google analytics every day to see what is happening with my site and to it. Maybe you should be using them on a daily
      basis too.

There isn’t enough space here for me to explain about Google Search Console and Analytics and how to avoid Google penalty. Just Google about it and you’ll find tons of good documents about them. I hope this helps.

  3. Informative article! I actually run a blog myself, and I’m always looking for basics which I’m slacking on! I acknowledge that there’s a LOT of aspects of SEO that I don’t understand (it’s a very complicated topic!), so I’m always down to learn more about it.

I’ve actually been implementing a few things you have here over the past few weeks, and I’ve found my traffic jumped by about 25%! That might not sound like a lot, but I find it rather exciting ^^ My goal is to become an SEO master by the next 2 years. Wish me luck!! And thank you for all the information! 😀

    • Hi Koda,

Thanks for labelling this as an “Informative article!” Oh, you actually run a blog yourself, and always looking for basics when the going gets tough? SEO is hard to understand because we have been made to believe so. Besides, Google’s algorithyms change so fast that it reinforces the idea of the mysterious SEO.

Yes, implementing white hat SEO tactics will make your traffic increase, just as you saw when you did and your traffic jumped by about 25%! To me 25% increase in traffic is quite impressive and I congratulate for that.

Your goal is to become an SEO master by the next 2 years? I heard that if someone set out to learn something and did it seriously, by 2 years they would become an expert at it. So that  is my wish for you.

I thank you too for the great comment.

  4. The search engine contributes a great deal to the development of a blog in the aspect of helping with traffic and Google ranking as well for that site. The importance of SEO isn’t well appreciated by some site owners who do not know how to use it and it’s quite sad. I once had a site and I did my know much about making use of search engines and had no knowledge of how it can help the content of one’s site much appreciated. Best regards.

    • Hi Benson,

Yes, without search engines what will our blogs be in terms of traffic and Google ranking? We will suffer trying to get people to our websites.

I think site owners who don’t appreciate the importance of SEO is because they don’t know the role it plays in their website. Once they do, serious online workers do everything to know all about SEO. My site seeks to help them do so.

      Thanks for your comment.
