Yanbal was founded in 1967 by Juan Fernando Belmont Anderson in Peru.

They are a very old and established company that deals in cosmetics. They claim to have over half a million distributors in over 11 different countries including Columbia, Venezuela, Spain, and Bolivia. The others are Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, and Ecuador. They have recently expanded into the United States.

Yanbal have been ranked in the top 100 MLM companies for many years and have a huge presence in the niche.

The founder, Juan Fernando Belmont Anderson, has made it to the Forbes billionaires list back in 2013 and 2014. But he has since dropped off that list due to his company being an MLM company. This seems to make a difference in how a company is valued.

The company has a commitment to empowering women in the business world with a focus on them being independent. This has been carried on by the founder’s daughter Janine Belmont who is now the CEO of the company,

This company has different products it promotes in different parts of the world.

In Latin America, they are heavy on cosmetics for women and colognes for men along with baby products.

In the USA they only deal in jewelry that is designed by high profile jewelers in New York and handcrafted in Peru.

This is top-shelf jewelry that is 24 karat gold and features glass and crystal.

Their products are well established, high quality and reasonably priced. Besides, the company stands behind them one hundred percent.

One interesting twist to their approach is they offer a potential customer their own personal stylist who is really a distributor. This is not offered by any other company dealing in jewelry in the USA.

The business plan

We will focus on the overall plan
the company uses in all of their divisions. This in some areas seems a little outdated. But in the jewelry line it is actually unique and new.

They encourage having parties, similar to Tupperware and the likes, to show off their products and make sales. In the process the distributor hosting the parties makes commissions on any sales.

You earn from 25 to 35 percent commissions on sales. This is in addition to other bonuses they make available for discounts on products.

You also recruit new distributors as you go, earning commissions on your downline up to three levels down. But it is hard to get to the third level profits unless you are a heavy recruiter.

Level one commissions are paid out at 6 to 10 percent. Level two pays 2 to 5 percent. But level three sales are at 3 percent.

One thing we noticed is that the company front-loads its bonuses and discounts and even cash bonuses for the newbies.

Once a distributor has been there a while it becomes less frequent and you must recruit hard to continue to receive them on a regular basis.

Getting started in this business requires investing in a starter kit for $199.00. This comes with many products and training materials.

In Yanbal’s jewelry niche, they recommend their distributors wear their products daily as sort of a walking advertisement. This helps drum up new customers.

This seems a bit odd. But according to their training material, it works. So we will hold judgment on this technique, having not seen it in action previously with any other company we have reviewed.

The good news that makes this company a very good choice for working with is they follow the three rules of a quality MLM company.

  1. Marketing
  2. Sales
  3. Recruitment

The pros

  • Well-established company
  • Great product line
  • Great training
  • Good commissions
  • Great emphasis on women becoming independent workers
  • Follows the three rules of quality MLM

The cons

  • Outdated product delivery system ( Hosting parties)
  • Front-loaded commissions for newbies

Our views

We like what we found when doing the research of this company. And we feel they have a well-established track record in the multi-level marketing niche.

While their numbers are a bit down from past years, the introduction of their jewelry line and the expansion into the USA shows they are investing in their future.

This means they are also investing in their distributor’s future. This is because they are set up for success through these distributors. Above all, they treat them well.

We give Yanbal a thumbs up and recommend them to anyone who likes giving parties, meeting new people and giving advice on how to use these products.

We hope this review helps answer any questions you may have about them. But if you have any you still want to ask or if you just want to leave us a comment please do so in the comments section below.

  1. Hi, Akoli,

Yanbal certainly sounds like the typical MLM company you can find out there. If I understood correctly, the only way they distribute their products is through parties? They don’t have any other distribution channels?

The one thing I don’t like about these programs is having to recruit people. Not only do you have to worry about making sales but also about bringing new people into the company. It may not be a scam, but it’s definitely not for everybody.

Thanks for putting this review together.

    • Hi Enrique,

Yes, Yanbal is your typical MLM company. Yes, they distribute their products through parties. I don’t know of any other distribution channels for them.

Recruiting people face to face is difficult for me too. The pressure of MLM companies is that you have minimum monthly sales to make and then you also have to think about bringing new people into the company. As the review states, that’s for heavy hitters.

Thanks too for contributing to this discussion. Your contribution has been enriching to all.

  2. This review has provided enough clarity on Yanbal brand. They obviously have so many features that make them a good choice of partnership. Therirpolicy to empower women is bold and noble. Also, the commission rates are really enticing. Seeing that they are diversifying to the US with a jewelry division also sends a strong message. Honestly, I think the advantages of working with this company far outweighs the disadvantages. Looks like a really good opportunity.

    Thanks for sharing

    • Hello Rhain,

I’m glad you found my review has provided enough clarity on Yanbal. Yes, the fact that they offer a large range of products makes them interesting to work with. I think any policy to empower women is very noble. The minority (men) have pushed the majority (women) to the background. And it’s only right to give them their rightful place back. Commission rates is one of the factors that make people hate MLMs. Any company departing from miserly commission payments is recommendable. I don’t know why they have chosen jewelry for the US market but then they must have done their market study to determine that. Yes, Yanbal looks like a very good candidate for all who want to work with a good MLM company. I will encourage all to consider this business opportunity.

  3. Hi! I’m glad I came across your post. This seems to be a cool company. I like to talk a lot and have had some success in previous MLM business I have joined. So, I’ll give Yanbal a try!

I like training were they empower women, and this company seems to have that philosophy.

    • Hi Ann!

I’m also glad that you commented on this post. What more than a blogger ask for? Yes, Yanbal is one of those companies one can be proud of. Congratulations on your success in previous MLM businesses. Sure, do give Yanbal a try. I’m sure you will not regret.

Yes, Yanbal’s philosophy of empowering women is very noble indeed. Not that women need our compassion. No, they don’t. What they need is the world to give them back their rightful place in society as the majority and the pillar of humanity.

  4. Thank you so much for your review on Yanbal, I have never heard of this company before. I am usually in the fence when it comes to MLM company and products but Yanbal seems to ne a legit company with a good product. I am surprised that they have been around this long! As for the logistic part is not that bad if you learn how to work with the system.

However, like I said I am not a big fa of MLM, been joining a couple of them in the past, lost money and I am scared still. Who knows I might give it another chance.

    Thanks again for unbiased review.

    • Hey Nuttanee,

I thank you also very much for your comment on this review. I’m not surprised that you’ve never heard of this company before since you said you’re not a big fan of MLM companies. Yes, Yanbal seems attractive to even people who don’t like to work with MLM companies. If a company, especially an MLM one, has been around this long it only goes to show how good they are!

I hope that you will forget your past bad experiences with MLMs which are still scaring you about Yanbal and join it. That might change your perception of good MLM companies.

Thank you always for your valuable contribution to discussions on this blog.
